I was searching for the obituary for Mr. Hale after wondering often when he had passed away. I was a neighbor, and knowing him since the early 1990's I whole heartedly enjoyed taking him for groceries, getting his grocery order myself, and taking him goodies from my families celebrations to share with a neighbor. My sons, who were both younger when they met him enjoyed helping him with groceries also and a ride when we would see him walking. I remember his humor and him telling me he used WD-40 on his knees. Wether he actually did this and received good results, I have no idea. He was always a perfect gentleman, who lived a simple life, and who I genuinely tried my best to always look out for him, as I know other neighbors looked in on him, too. I did not know much about his personal life but I recall before his trailer caught fire, a whole wall in his living room full of pictures and snapshots of whom I suspected was his family. I had no idea his age or his family status, until I read this obituary. I just know I miss seeing him out and about, and miss our conversations. I sincerely hope he was this man that I was fond of. And I will think no less. Please know I would have sent this message sooner if I would have been more curious before now. I hope Heavens gates welcomed him.
