Condolence From: Loretta Bruce
Condolence: I was privileged to get to know Uncle Gene and Aunt Joan when they made their visits to Texas. Both Gene and Joan made everyone feel like family. Roberta told so many wonderful stories of her family in Maryland and one of my favorite vacations was when I was able to visit the Mersinger family with Randy and Roberta. We had the warmest of welcomes from everyone and many laughs. Of course we had the crab cake festivities that Roberta had bragged about so many times. She was right!!! I was privileged to be able to spend some quality time visiting with Uncle Gene during that visit. What a blessing for me. My favorite quote about death is from the poet Thomas Campbell who said "to live in hearts we leave behind is not to die" Uncle Gene is in so many hearts and he will stay a part of all of us forever. My heart is filled of love for all of you, the Mersingers and I am a better person for have known all of you. Thank you to Roberta who said, "Loretta, you have got to meet my family in Maryland" and I did! You are each and everyone of you a tribute to Eugene Laurence Mersinger 1929 - 2013 Love and Condolences to all of you. Loretta

Condolence From: Randy Pryor
Condolence: The memories I have with Uncle Gene are never to be forgotten. I have been truly blessed by knowing him through Roberta. I absolutely cherish playing golf on our wedding weekend with the Mersingers'. In fact it was entitled "Randy's Last Round of Golf". Well that will never happen! Duston knows! I love being with Aunt Joan too! She has on occasion when visiting us in Austin to enjoy a beverage we make down here.

I am sorry I'm not there with all of you. My prayer from Austin is that all of you in Maryland have comfort in knowing that he is in that place I hope we all get to share together one day. Thank you all so very much in being part of it all that blessed me with Roberta, Uncle Gene's Bird! My bird too!

Love to all!
Randy

Condolence: Gene was more than my "boss". He was a mentor, a friend and someone I truly admired. He was a very important part of my life. I appreciate the way he took me and my girls under his wing when I was a single parent. He was a strong influence. He was caring and funny. I especially loved to hear his stories. Our time together at Chesapeake Controls was and always will be a special time for me. Gene is that person who changed my life, who made a difference, he believed in me and I will always be grateful. I came to love Gene like a father. He will be missed but never forgotten!
