On October 3, 2020, Aloisia “Lisa” Connelly passed away at Sinai Hospital, Baltimore Maryland. Lisa was born on April 11, 1929 in Landsberg am Lech, Bayern, Germany, daughter of the late Martin and Anna Hafenmair.

She moved to Baltimore, Maryland in 1964 with her sons, where she resided until her passing. Lisa worked at Villa Julie College until she retired. She was highly respected by her colleagues for her hard work, friendliness, and dependability. She was an active member of the Edelweiss German Club of Baltimore. Lisa was fond of
gardening, traveling, attending ethnic festivals, and she was an active member of Immaculate Conception Church in Towson, Maryland.

Lisa married Charles Connelly in 1970; he preceded her in death in 1998. In this union, she gained a step-son, Richard Connelly, as well as a step-daughter Helen, who also preceded her in death.

She was a beloved mother to her sons: Robert Hafenmair and his companion Elaine Long of Freeland MD; Ted Hafenmair and his wife Darlene of Hanover, PA; Roland Hafenmair and his wife Michele of Parkton, MD; and Mark Kurtz of Killeen, Texas.

Lisa was also the loving grandmother/Oma to six grandchildren: Sarah and Holly Hafenmair, Roland and Jessica Hafenmair, Colleen Fleckenstein, and John Connelly. She was blessed with three great-grandchildren: Ruxton Campbell, Kingston DeFelippo, and Jacob Fleckenstein. And she was loved by Elaine’s
children as well.

She is also survived by two brothers, Erich and Peter Hafenmair of Germany, and multiple nieces, nephews and cousins—all in Germany.

Tom and Tina Bosley were her caring neighbors who were always there to help if needed. Lisa also had a close personal friend in Marlene Riggs, who gave Lisa much of her time, helping to brighten her days.

There will be a celebration of her life at a later date—to be determined.
