Obituary

Doris Mary Giordano, 93, of Lochearn, MD, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2020 at Augsburg Lutheran Village after a long battle with cancer.

Born January 25, 1927 in the Hamilton neighborhood of Baltimore, MD she was the daughter of Edgar Allan Tyson and Marie Anna Tyson (both deceased). She was the wife of Joseph Charles Giordano (also deceased), her husband of 31 years.

Doris was a graduate of Eastern High School and continued evening studies in banking, human relations and business administration. Doris worked as a banker with Baltimore Federal Financial (later became Household Finance) as a branch manager and Officer. She enjoyed summer vacations with her husband and children in Ocean City, MD and traveling with her sisters to various states including her time-share in Pompano Beach, Florida. She was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles and enjoyed playing bingo with her Lutheran Village friends.

Doris was a life-time member of Lochearn Community Pool, long-time parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo church, long-time volunteer for the Baltimore County and Maryland Department of Aging and as well as a volunteer at Augsburg Village.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy Carol and Alex Lesnett of Pompano Beach, FL, Cathy Jean and Guy Armiger of Frederick, MD and Gina Marie and Richard (Mark) Warnsmann of Pasadena, MD. She is also survived by grandchildren Shane Armiger and Stacey (Armiger) Suter, Michael & Vanessa Lesnett, Jessica (Fleming) & Jason Peltzer, Jillian (Fleming) & Nicholas Eid and great-grandchildren Alysse and PJ Suter, Nikko, Ciro and Gia Armiger, Charlotte Lesnett, Ella, Lennon and Austin Peltzer and her loving sister, Sylvia Sizemore.

She was predeceased by sisters Nancy Brocato, Jean Miller and Elizabeth (Betty) Head, and brothers John (Jack) Tyson and Allan (Buddy) Tyson.

There will be a celebration of life for the immediate family due to COVID – date and location TBD.

Memorials are suggested to House of Ruth or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
