Mark was a good man, and very dedicated to the active duty personnel and veterans issues he championed, including guaranteeing that military personnel on duty overseas kept and exercised their right to vote. I was always struck with his dry and great sense of humor whenever I met with him, whether at the VA, on Capitol Hill or here at DAV. He was ever the optimist. I will miss Mark. He is a true loss to this community. I hope the family is comforted in knowing he made a difference in the lives of millions of veterans who never had the pleasure of meeting him.
