As a child not much is remembered unless its a significant event, however, I have been able to retain memories of Buddy. He was siginificant, he was important, he deserved to be remembered. My love for camping started with him. Camping in his back yard, eating crabs, and just spending time with the family is something I will always cherish, and Buddy is behind the reasoning. I remember one morning after waking up in a tent, I carried a box of cheezits with me and my plush scooby doo to see Buddy. He was taking all the kids out on a little drive. He had this lawn mower, and attached to the back of it was a little cart he would pull us in. This is in the summertime, in the middle of the field, no shade, and right now all I can think about was the sun shining so gruesomely on Buddy, but did he care? He cared only for the smiles that he blessed our face with. From what I remeber there was Karaoke and young me always thought I had a good voice and I blame that on Buddy. He made me feel special when the truth is he was the special one. The other special things in Buddys life was his coin collection- oh that coin collection was huge. A whole room filled with tables to hold them, and of course being the unselfish person he was, gave me some of his coins. I was dazzled by how shiny and big they were, and shared that little passion with him. Whenever I was lucky enought to spend my day with him, during lunch we would go inside and enjoy a tuna fish sandwhich. Something simple, but the simplicity of it was endearing; Time spent with a loved one to create Memories that are able to be cherished later on in the future. He was no doubt an Angel on this earth, and will continue to be that person in Heaven. God decided that he wanted to spend time with our Buddy and I can't blame him. Buddy was truly one of a kind. Rest in peace Buddy, we will all see you soon and in the mean time you will surely be missed by everyone.
