Life Story for James E. Warner Jr.

James Edgar Warner, Jr., born January 16, 1927, went peacefully to celebrate with Jesus on August 31, 2017. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James Edgar & Ruth Sauble Warner, his brother and sister-in-law Raymond & Maxine Warner, daughter-in-law Donna Warner, grandsons Jason Hunter Warner and Mark Irish Vaeth II.

Jim is survived by his wife Maxine Overturf Warner; his children Jim Warner III (Kathy), John Warner (Teresa) and Jill Jones (David); his grandchildren, Mitchell Warner (Christina), Jamie Vaeth, Ben Warner, Sarah Bates (Jason), Tim Warner (Hilary), Greg Warner and seven great-grandchildren.

After serving in the US Navy, high school sweethearts, who graduated from Franklin High School in 1944, Jim and Maxine married just shy of 70 years ago on September 27, 1947 in the Glyndon United Methodist Church.

Jim was a lifetime member of the Glyndon Volunteer Fire Department where he actively served for 62 years. He was also a life member of other local volunteer companies and was instrumental in their formation. He was a lifetime member of Glyndon’s Community Men Bible Class as well as a member of the Sprinkler Fitters Union.

Since moving to Virginia in 2005, Jim was an active member of the Bethia United Methodist Church where he enjoyed singing with the Praise & Worship Team, bible study with the Posse, BUMM and became a friend, father, brother and mentor to many.

Jim was a man of integrity and was well respected and loved. His influence and memory will live on forever. His family is grateful to the At Home Hospice group for its exceptional care, Jim’s special care-giver & friend Sherri Everhart and the beautiful residents & staff of Springdale at Lucy Corr in Chesterfield, Va. Thanks to all who have touched Jim’s life and have been praying for his family.

Family will receive friends at the Eline Funeral Home 11824 Reisterstown Road Reisterstown, Maryland on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, 2-4 and 6-8pm with a Homecoming on September 7, 2017 at 10am. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.

A special Celebration of Life will take place at Bethia United Methodist Church in Chesterfield, Va. on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 10:00am.
