Shirley was concerned about her appearance and wore makeup whenever we visited.  She always wore bright red lipstick.  When her grandsons, Chris and Justin, were young, she made a point of kissing them soundly on the cheek, leaving bright red lip marks.  How she would laugh while the boys were horrified, desperately rubbing their cheeks trying to remove the lip stick.  She enjoyed all her grandchildren and was proud of her sons.  I have copied those kisses, just not with lipstick, with my two grandchildren.
