Obituary for Dennis Vincent Chiodi

Dennis Vincent Chiodi
Dennis Chiodi, 70, a robust Italian succumbed to metastatic prostate cancer on Tuesday, October 11, 2016. Born August 29, 1946 in Baltimore Maryland, he was the son of the late Lou and Margaret Chiodi and the devoted husband of Sharon (Nee Pierce) for 45 years. He was a father to Chris, Jody, and Lindsay. He was a grandfather to Selena Chiodi, Giana and Carlie Rohrer, Dini, Jackson and Tino. Brother-in-law to Amy, Jeanne and Tom Pierce. Uncle to Mark and Michelle.
Dennis grew up in Edmondson Village and Howard County. He graduated from Howard High and attended 4 years of the Union 101 Carpenter Apprentice Program. He graduated as a Master Carpenter and worked in commercial construction. He started as a carpenter, then foreman and then superintendent. He worked for Whiting Turner, Baltimore Contractors and Chesapeake Contracting Group. He was a stickler for detail and worked on the Inner Harbor, car dealerships, office buildings, Sparrow Point, vet hospitals, restaurants, hospitals and various other jobs in Maryland and Washington DC. He enjoyed working with his best friends Rocky, Greg, Dave, Bob, Tim, Bobby, Mike and others that preceded him in death. He was especially fond of his Aunt Linda and Uncle Ed; his cousins: Ellen, Gene, Laura, Jodi; and other special cousins and friends. Dennis was most proud of the house he built in Upperco, MD in 1986 and the restoration of his 1968 Pontiac GTO, which won Best Muscle Car at the Northeast Car Show. Dennis will now start building his new house.
There will be no viewing or funeral service. A celebration of Dennis’ life will be held at a later date. Due notice will be given.
