Those of you who attended Grandma Kate's funeral will remember that later when we sat around reminiscing about Grandma and her active life, I made the comment that Grandma would not want the family spending a lot of time grieving. A suggestion was made that we all should go out and celebrate her life . . . and we did! As I recall, those in attendance were the youngsters in the family, but we had the blessing of our parents (Grandma's kids). We had a great time and didn't get home (my mom and dad's because the funeral was in PA), until the wee hours. Everywhere we went we, since there were so many of us, we were asked , "What's the occasion?" We answered that we were celebrating our Grandma's life. As I remember, Shirley had a really great time, as did the rest of us. If memory serves me right, in attendance were: Frankie, Shirley, Fred, Linda, Jimmy, Johnny, Sadie?, Jeanie (for a little while), Allen, and probably a few more, but my memory is not what it used to be. It was a memorable evening, and when I think of it, I remember Shirley, and always will.
