Life Story for Ethel Virginia Baker (McNeave)

Ethel Virginia  Baker (McNeave)
Ethel V. Baker, 96, of Reisterstown, MD passed away on Sunday May 8, 2016 in Chambersburg, PA. She was born on June 8, 1919 in Baltimore, MD to the late J. Frederick and Elizabeth A. (nee Norris) McNeave.

A homemaker most of her life, she worked for Westinghouse as a young woman where she met and married her husband Robert H. Baker, Sr. on December 26, 1940. She was very active in her church, Lochearn Presbyterian church and then at Reisterstown United Methodist church. She enjoyed camping and traveling with her family. They visited all 50 states and Canada and through her husband's work they lived in Puerto Rico and Ireland for several years. Family was the main focus in her life. She loved baking, sewing, gardening and making her family and friends know they were special and loved. Ethel was a wonderful Mom and friend and will be greatly missed by all.

Her husband of 69 years, her parents and her sister Mildred Bailey preceded her in death. She is survived by her children Janette Montgomery, Robert H. Baker, Jr. and wife Betsy, Amy McGuire and husband Daniel, her niece Phyllis Bailey as well as grandchildren, Bobbie-Jo Baker, Carrie Gray and husband Brad, Darby Pelton, and great grandson Kelby Gray and step-great-grandchildren Eva McGuire, Natalie Heinrichs, Jackson Heinrichs, Adelaide King, Daniel King.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 12 from 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM at Eline Funeral Home, 11824 Reisterstown Road, Reisterstown, MD. Funeral will be held noon on Friday, May 13 at Reisterstown United Methodist Church, 246 Main Street, Reisterstown with a graveside service immediately following at Druid Ridge Cemetery.
