Clyde O.  Burleson
Clyde O'Brien Burleson, 90, of Hampstead and formerly of Abingdon and Aberdeen, passed away Monday October 5, 2015 at the Dove House in Westminster.

Born February 19, 1925 in Bakersville, NC, he was the son of the late Hershel and May Ward Burleson. He was the husband of Evelyn Marie Sayers Burleson, his wife of 66 years.

Prior to retirement, Mr. Burleson was employed as a sheet metal mechanic for several companies, including Martin Marietta, Bendix Corporation and Westinghouse. He was a member of Jephthah Lodge #222, AF & AM in Essex and was a member of Indian Rocks Baptist Church in Seminole, FL. He enjoyed gardening, walking, nature and spending time with his family and grandchildren..

Surviving are his three daughters, Sheila Fennington of Longs, SC, Brenda Hess of Upperco and Kimberly Gibson of White Marsh; son, Donald Burleson of Cumberland; three sisters, Jeannie Maye of Port Henry, NY, Louise Hoffman of Seminole, FL and Margie McCardell of Largo; two brothers, George Burleson of White Marsh and Frank Burleson of Seminole, FL; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by grandson, Johnny Earle, sister, Gerri Nebinger, brother, Carl Burleson, sister, Pauline Burleson, sister, Frances Tracey and brother, Charles O'Neil Burleson.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 7, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at ELINE FUNERAL HOME, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead, where Masonic rites will be offered at 7:30 p.m.. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 9, 2015 at the funeral home. Pastor Art Monroe will officiate. Inurnment will be in Greenmount United Methodist Cemetery, Hampstead.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to The Dove House, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157.
