Yvonne "Karen" Lease

Baltimore, MD – The Lord had Karen's room ready and He called her home on April 28, 2020 where she was met by her loving husband Wade, her parents Emma and J.W., brother Harry, nephews Tommy and Jay Carr, and Jimmy and Jeff Eaton. She continues to be whole and in joy with them while they await our arrival.

Karen is survived by her daughter Sonia & husband Kevin, sister Anita Cessna & husband Tom, brother Tom Carr & wife Marty, brother Dick Carr & wife Eleanor, as well many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

Karen was a very loving and kind person. She worked as an aide to children with disabilities for Prince George's County Public Schools where she was well-loved by the children, their families, and co-workers. This experience was vital when Karen became her husband's caregiver, as he suffered with Multiple Sclerosis, for decades.

Karen contracted Covid-19 pneumonia and passed peacefully in hospice two days later. There was no funeral due to pandemic restrictions and she is buried, next to her husband, at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, in LaVale. A memorial service will be held on-line, at a future date.

To show your support for others affected by the Coronavirus, please consider a donation to the Western Maryland Food Bank, P.O. Box 243, Cumberland, MD 21501-0243. That would make Karen happy.

For anyone suffering from grief, a wonderful resource is the book, "Good Grief" 50th Anniversary Edition, by Granger E. Westberg.

Condolences may be sent to the family at Eline Funeral Home, 11824 Reisterstown Road, Reisterstown, MD 21136.

Dear Sonia,
We only received word of your Mom's passing last week through Charlotte from your Aunt Anita Mae. We think back, especially Floyd, to wonderful times of laughter visiting your grandparents at the farm, and up to see your Mom and Dad. Karen was always kind and welcoming. She was a joy to be around. Though weary I'm sure, God sustained her as she cared for your Dad for so many years. Love to hear from you. Diane & Floyd

I have so many memories with aunt Karen nothing but good memories... She was my "K-mom" I love her so much... She called me her favorite little person, she used to run her nails lightly up and down my back til I fell asleep when I was little... And she used to have a chocoloate milk waiting for me at my bus stop... She always lobed my curly hair!!! She was the most caring person I have ever known... I know she loved me and always had faith in me... It breaks my heart she is gone but I know without a doubt she is watching over me. I love you so much Aunt Karen "K-mom" at least now you are with Uncle sunny, Grandma, Pap, Uncle Harry, Tommy, and Jay and you will be ok! I will miss you so much!!! Love Always, Jessie a.k.a "Your favorite little person" xoxo
