Obituary for William Henry "Hank" Suchting III

William Henry Suchting III, of Reisterstown, MD, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 12, 2022. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland on July 18, 1952 and was the son of the late William Henry Suchting, Jr. and the late Margaret Rees Smith Suchting.

Hank is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Doreen B. Suchting. Together they built Branchwater Farms, which was incorporated in 1973 and continues to operate today. Hank and Doreen first met showing cattle, and quickly knew they were meant to build a life together. They were married on July 19, 1980, and from that day forward loved and cherished each other beyond measure. Alongside his wife, Hank enjoyed raising Angus cattle, and planting, tending, and harvesting field crops. He was the biggest supporter of Doreen and her dream, Branchwater Border Collies. Although he was not from an agricultural background, he knew with confidence, at a very young age, that was his passion. He eventually came to be known as a vital member of the agricultural community, being involved with many various organizations and associations, including the Baltimore County Soil Conservation District, the Maryland Angus Association, the Third Gunpowder Agricultural Club, and more.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his beloved son, James William Suchting, and daughter Deedra Michelle Prigel(Suchting), married to Robert E. Prigel III. Anyone who knew Hank could clearly see how much he loved and valued his family, and the love he has shown to his children is a testament to that. He also leaves behind his sister Harriet M. Kiilehua, his brother Carl Joseph Suchting, brother-in-law Richard Brunner, his nephews Joseph Francis Scheide, Robert Henry Scheide, and Robert Brunner, and niece Rachel Lynn Rocco, as well as numerous extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his beloved nephew Richard “Richie” J. Brunner.

The family will hold a visitation Sunday, November 20, 2022, 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm & 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at Eline Funeral Home, Reisterstown, Maryland.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022, 11:00 am at the St. Johns Western Run Episcopal Church, Western Run, 3738 Butler Road, Reisterstown, MD 21136 with Reverend Tracey Bruce officiating.

Burial will take place in the St. John's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Hank was an avid supporter of this cause and they would be honored for support St. Jude’s in Hanks memory.
