Obituary for Shirley Ann "SAM" Zumbrun

Born in Baltimore, MD and lived in Upperco, MD all her life. Her parents were Marvin Shellman Myers, and Grace Hoffman Myers. She married Ronald Leister Zumbrun in 1958 and had two daughters- Serita Zumbrun Kuhn (Bryce) and Lisa Zumbrun Martin (Michael).

She attended Hampstead High School and North Carroll High School- and was the first class to graduate in 1957. She went on to attend Towson State Teacher's College. She also was a music student at Peabody Preparatory School. She was a member and past president of Vaughn GFWC.

She enjoyed working and teaching children at private kingerdarten and was very happy leading the Hampstead Girl Scout Troop in many activities and camping. When her daughters' started school she worked for Union National Bank in Westminster which became PNC and retired after 21 years.

She loved her daughters' and grandsons' school activities. She had 6 grandsons: Travis Martin (Stacey), Brendan Khun (Caitlyn), Grant Martin (Amanda), Spencer Kuhn (Alyssa), Taylor Martin, and Garrett Martin (Brianna); she also had 8 great-grandchildren; Zoey and Charley Martin, Mara, Elizabeth, and Gretchen Kuhn, Maddox Martin, and Savannah and Parker Kuhn.

Shirley enjoyed their home at the Shore where boating, jet skis, and the beach were special times. Also helping out with farmring, which Ron loved as he raised beef cattle on their farm.

She was predeceased by brother, George Charles Myers, and brother-in-law James Henry Zumbrun.

Service and interment for Shirley will be private.
Memorial contributions can be made to Trinity Church of Christ in Manchester, of which Shirley was a dedicated, longtime member.
