Celebration of Life

In Loving Memory of Selina Maria Warren

Selina made her “Grand Entrance” on May 25, 1964 at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, MD; the daughter of James R. Warren (deceased) and Bertha B. Warren. She was educated in the Baltimore City & Baltimore County Public Schools Systems.

Selina was a very loving child even though she was quite feisty and rambunctious. She was also very persuasive and could sell ice to an eskimo because she was just that good! During her childhood, she also used this skillset to persuade her sisters to see things her way which often left them in big trouble with Daddy and she’d remain free as a bird! She loved her family and would do anything to provide for them.

In 1981, she gave birth to her son H. Leroy Taylor III with then partner H. Leroy Taylor Jr. she then later married the late Eric Hester and created the beautiful life of Ericka Arlina Hester in 1985.

Selina enjoyed horseback riding, spending time at the beach as well as days at the amusement parks with her children and siblings; she enjoyed crabbing with her Mom as much as she enjoyed eating the crabs! She loved music and could dance all night in a world all her own and was quite fond of the Dracula series. By 2006 with six grandchildren under her belt, she decided to slow down just a little to spend time with her grandchildren which were the highlights of her life and ultimately ending up with nine grandchildren in total that she absolutely adored as they adored her alike. Although Selina was a no-nonsense type of woman, her children could easily get over on her thus being the ultimate debater as she often did with her father and usually lost.

In 2014, Selina’s health began spiraling downward and became dependent on her mobile oxygen tanks which still never prevented her from walking her grandchildren to and from school. Selina prayed often and had her own personal relationship with God and ultimately gave her life to Christ.

Selina leaves to cherish her memories, two children H. Leroy Taylor III, Ericka A. Hester; bonus daughter Charlene Thornton; Grandchildren descending by age, Dion’ta, Kierra, Aliyah, Asia, Aleria, Joshua, Elijah, Jamori & McKenzie; Mother Bertha Walters, Stepmother Cheryl Warren; Brother Ralph Fine; Sisters, Tina Beam, Patty Beam, Christine Jefferson (Donald), Nicole Barkley (Donnie), Crystal Thompson (Lewis) Detra Neal (Jeffrey), Constance Warren and two sisters preceding her in death Roxy Quick and Teresa Houck and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends near and far.
