Obituary for Sandra S. Thawley (Shore)
Sandra S. Thawley, of Hanover, PA, formerly of Reisterstown, passed away on September 8, 2021. She was born on October 22, 1944 in Kendallville, IN to the late Jack and Mary Ellen (nee Hastings) Shore. She was the step-daughter of the late Clel Shore. She was married to Thomas Thawley for 52 years.
Sandra loved her family, friends and her church family as well. She was a pre-school teacher at Reisterstown United Methodist Church for 30 years teaching generations of children. She was a member of the J.O.Y. Circle. In her spare time she enjoyed reading and sitting on the beach in the sun. Sandra loved well and was well loved.
She is survived by her husband Thomas Thawley, daughter Jennifer L. Silcott (Thomas), son Michael D. Thawley (Kathrin), son Matthew T. Thawley (Christy); brother David Shore, sister Kimberly Shore Rushton, sister Joan Calloway, step brother Tim Backer, step brother Todd Backer; grandchildren Tyler (Victoria), Megan and Jack Silcott, Andrew, Amelia and Simon Thawley; great granddaughter Ryleigh Silcott. Predeceased by her parents Jack and Mary Ellen Shore, step mother Clel Shore and step brother Ted Backer.
Memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 16 , 2021 at 11am at Reisterstown United Methodist Church, 246 Main Street, Reisterstown, MD.
