Rose Theresa Sottile, 79, died June 27, 2019 with her family by her side in Towson, MD. A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church in Glyndon, MD. She was born November 12, 1939, in Brooklyn, NY.

Her interests included family and classic movies. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members.

She worked for the Maryland State Police until 1990. She retired as a State employee from the Maryland Disability Determination Services but enjoyed it so much that she returned as a part-time contractual employee for another 12 years. Rose was known to be feisty and determined to get the job done and expected the same from her peers. She never forgot the reason why they were employed. They were tasked to serve the public and she was passionate toward the accomplishment of that goal. In the words of one of her secretarial partners, “Rose was, without question, one of God’s special gifts to those of us who had her in our lives and called her our friend.”

Mrs. Sottile is survived by her sister, Lucille Fasano; 3 sons and their spouses, Anthony Sottile, John and Sharon Sottile, Russell and Cathy Sottile; and 9 grandchildren, Christopher, Ashley, Gabriella, Cassandra, Luca, Nino, Brittany, Matt and Joe; and 1 great-grandchild, Tristan.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rosario (Russ) Sottile.

Friends may call at Eline Funeral Home 11824 Reisterstown Road (at Franklin Blvd.) On Monday, July 1, 2019 from 3-5 p.m. and from 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (in the small stone chapel) located at 65 Sacred Heart Lane in Reisterstown, MD 21136 on Tuesday July 2, 2019 at 11:00am. Interment will be held privately at a later date.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family, I know how much she touched my life, so I can only imagine how she touched yours! I worked with her at DDS. She was beautiful inside and out! A heart of gold! You were blessed to have her as s Friend! Heaven has gained another Angel!

I extend my heartfelt sympathy to Rose's family. I know she will be sorely missed and fondly remembered. You can find great comfort in the hope for the future present in the bible. At Isaiah 25: 8, the Bible promises a time when God “will swallow up death forever.” Also, Acts 24:15 boldly states, "there is going to be a resurrection." The resurrection this verse talks about will give us the opportunity to see our lost loved ones again on Earth. I know it will be a joyous time when you can reunite with Rose!

My dear sweet friend Rose. You were one of the biggest blessings I got from working at Maryland Disability. You taught me so much Rose as a friend as a fellow employee and as a human being. After my mom died you were my second mom in my life . Your family and your friends meant the world to you. God gained a really special Angel to go back home with him today. I hope you and Russ are dancing together to your favorite songs. I love you and we'll miss you and will treasure the memories of our times together always. May God be with your children and your grandchildren and your family during this time. May they find comfort knowing you were a blessing to the people whose lives you touched.
