Obituary for Raniel Tagaytayan

Raniel Ogerio Tagaytayan was a loving and caring husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022 surrounded by his loved ones and friends.

Raniel was born on May 13, 1974 to parents Ramon Sr. and Miagros (Ogerio) Tagaytayan. He was the eldest in a family of three children. After graduating from High school in 1991, he attended the West Visayas State University, Iloilo City and obtained a degree in Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1995. In 2013, he received
his degree of Master of Science in Nursing Informatics from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Raniel worked as a Volunteer Nurse as well as a Sales Representative for Books R’ Us and SMART Telecommunications in Iloilo City. He then chose his specialty of being an Operating Room Nurse in the Philippines. After immigrating into the US, he worked as a Certified Nurse Assistant at Good Samaritan Nursing Health and Rehab Center. He passed his NCLEX examination, and he would eventually become the Director of Nursing at Good Samaritan Health and Rehab Center. After a time, Raniel eventually returned to the OR as a clinical staff nurse at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville where he was recognized as
a clinical awardee. Raniel would move to Maryland in 2006 where he worked at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in the Department of Neurosurgery, Neuro Ortho Spine, and Otology specialties. After earning his Master Degree, he worked as a Clinical Outcomes Analyst at Johns Hopkins International where he would
eventually rise to the position of the Director of Clinical Quality and Safety. Raniel’s greatest love was fishing as well as anything to do with computers and technology. His passion for photography and videography inspired him to specialize in this craft and build a small business. He enjoyed cooking, was a great
cook, and had a “green thumb” when caring for his plants and vegetable garden. He enjoyed being outdoors most especially at the beach. He loved to watch movies, travel and being with friends and family. His greatest enjoyment was being a “Tatay (Dad)” to his children and a loving husband to his wife. Raniel is survived by his wife, Jorin Anne Manikan-Tagaytayan, and their children, Rameses Andremelic and Naila Sophia Tagaytayan. He is also survived by his father, Ramon Sr. and Milagros Ogerio Tagaytayan, his brother, Ramon Jr. and
sister-in-law Darrish Jill Tagaytayan, and their children, Queen Kate and Ramon Tagaytayan III. Raniel also has a sister, Mary Joyce Tagaytayan-Aquino and brother-in-law, Argel Aquino and their children, Gelcee Denise and Tracy Feliz Aquino.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 1030 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church. Cremation will follow at the Eline Funeral Home-Reisterstown to be attended by the family. A reception will be held after the funeral mass at Eline Funeral Home 11824 Reisterstown Road, Reisterstown MD 21136.
