I have known "Miss Phyllis" my whole 71 years. She, Mr. Stanley, Jo Ann and Barbara were our next door neighbors on Rokeby Rd. in Baltimore City. Miss Phyllis rescued me when I was 3 and got my head stuck between the front porch railings. I remember her pouring cold water over my head to decrease the swelling. Our family followed them to Baltimore County where she and my mom led the Girl Scout troop and I enjoyed visiting her family on Abby Place. We spent fun times together in Ocean City, MD. Miss Phyllis always made everyone feel special, and I can picture her now catching up with family, friends and my parents about all that has happened. Written by Kathy Spellman Hoffmaster

I was blessed to know Phyllis through St. Matthews by the Sea and the women's retreats held for the past 8 years. She was a true servant of God, sweet as can be and loved to laugh. I called her my "adopted Grandma", every time I spoke to her she would say I love you and give me kisses. I will miss her dearly and she will hold a very special place in my heart, until we meet again! I am praying for her family as they learn to cherish their memories of her. Well done, faithful servant!

Dear Jo Ann and Bob, Barbara, and Cousin Betty,

We are so sorry for your loss. Aunt Phyllis was so special to us, and will be missed. She brought joy and laughter to everything she did, and we will miss sharing crabs, playing games, and "getting on her last nerve" (always said with a smile). Chris will miss the shared love of quilting. She also brought joy to Uncle Harvey and I am so glad they found each other.

In sympathy,

Steve and Chris

We have been friends with Phyllis for many, many years. She was a wonderful, loving, caring, and joyful lady who loved to laugh. She loved the Lord, her family, her church and church family and friends. Dearest JoAnn, Bob, Barbara, Jennifer and all your family, we are so sorry for the loss of your dear mom. If it were possible we would be there in person to extend our condolences, but we are with you in spirit at this time of loss. Love and Sympathy, Barbara and Bob Nelson
