Obituary for Nancy Jean Stickles (Heflin)
Nancy Jean Stickles, 79, of Manchester, MD passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023 at her home.
Born January 24, 1943 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Amos Heflin and Lura (née Dodd) Heflin. She was the wife of Cecil "Pat" Stickles, her husband of 61 years.
Prior to retirement, Mrs. Stickles had worked as a sales clerk for Hampstead Liquors. She also worked for Schaffer Bus and Deep Run Hardware. She was an avid country music fan and was a member of the Alabama Fan Club. She enjoyed attending concerts and was a fan of both the Orioles and the Ravens.
Surviving are her daughter, Lura (Stickles) McCormick and David Harbaugh of Hagerstown, MD; son, Michael and Winnie Stickles of Parkton, MD; granddaughters, Felicia McCormick, Morgan (McCormick) and John Weir, Shannon Stickles and Brian Mongelli; three great-grandchildren, Landen and Ryleigh Weir, and Alison Mongelli; and stepmother, Irene Heflin of Bowling Green, KY. She was predeceased by her brother, Amos Heflin, Jr.
The family will receive friends Thursday, January 12, 2023, from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Eline Funeral Home, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead, MD. A funeral service will be held during the evening visitation, beginning at 7:30 p.m..
In lieu of flowers, contributions to help defray funeral expenses may be sent to the funeral home.
