Obituary for Michael Joseph "Joe" O'Boyle

Michael Joseph O’Boyle – Age 82

Joe O’Boyle died peacefully on Wednesday, December 23, 2020. Those who were blessed to know him commented that he was a warm and benevolent person who engaged all. He had an incredible sense of humor, and was larger than life. Those who spent time with him always walked away smiling or laughing. He was an amazing husband, father, and “Pop Pop,” and the world will be less complete without him.

A native of New York City, Joe graduated from Fordham University, worked for Kellogg’s Sales Co., Battle Creek, Michigan for 34 years, and ended his career as an Assistant Regional Manager of the Chesapeake Division in Columbia, Maryland.

While living in Maryland, he was an active member of the Knights of Columbus at Sacred Heart, Glyndon, Maryland, and also volunteered for the Reisterstown Recreational Baseball Program. Upon retirement, his love of golf brought him to Nokomis/Venice, Florida for twenty years. He continued his service volunteering for the Knights of Columbus at Epiphany Cathedral in Venice, Florida until recently returning to Maryland.

He is survived by his wife, Paula of 60 years (4/8/61), his two sons Tim (Janet) and Chris (Lisa), two daughters Kerry Curtis (Mike) and Maureen Hendrix (Brody), and his eleven grandchildren: Jim, Kelly, Sarah, Ryan, Michael, and Sean O’Boyle, Meghan, Madison, and Nicholas Curtis, and Connor and Logan Hendrix. He is also survived by his brother, John O’Boyle, sister, Patricia Duer, and sister-in-law, Michele Phelan.

Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, January 7, 2021, 11:00am at Sacred Heart Church, Glyndon, MD, 65 Sacred Heart Lane, Reisterstown, MD 21136. Contact family for visitation information.
