Obituary for Maria A. Filipiak (Taormina)
Maria A. Filipiak, 90, of Baltimore, MD passed away on February 24, 2020. She was born in Akron, Ohio on January 23, 1930 to the late Carlo Taormina and the late Ann (nee Matranga) Taormina.
Maria was a dedicated mother, grandmother and homemaker. For over 15 years Maria was a member of the Loyola University Department of Student Administrative Services. She was referred to as the "Mayor" of Loyola and was friends of students, parents and faculty. Maria was a constant in an ever changing community.
She was the beloved mother of Carl S. Filipiak (Irene) of Timonium, MD, Deborah A. Glickman of Ocean City, MD and John A. Filipiak (Judy) of Baltimore, MD. Sister of Frances Harris ‘Rikki’ of Towson, MD and the late Josephine Ecolono. Also survived by two grandsons, John Filipiak (Laura) and Michael Filipiak (Samantha) and one great granddaughter, Charlotte Filipiak.
Service and interment are private.
