Obituary for Margaret Eleanor Parks
Margaret E. “Peggy” Parks, 89, of Hampstead, MD passed away on December 31, 2022 at the Westminster Health care Center.
Born April 19, 1933 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Norman C. and Margaret (Kelly) Smith. Margaret is also preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Joseph Parks, and sister, Janet Holler.
Margaret “Peggy” was a long-time member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church and the Maryland Ladies Ancient order of Hibernians. She enjoyed volunteering with the Care and Share group at church. Margaret took great pride in being a Mom. She loved being a caretaker and babysitter to her children, grandchildren, nephews and family friends children. In her spare time, she enjoyed picking up a mystery book and gardening.
Surviving are her three daughters, Kelly L. Parks of Hampstead, MD, Christina L. Parks of Hampstead, MD, Mary Elizabeth Connolly (Patrick) of Millers, MD; son, Brantley William Parks (Patricia) of Hampstead; two grandchildren, Teresa Carpenter (Douglas), William Parks; three great grandchildren, Brantley, Kevin, Liam; four sisters, Elizabeth Quinn, Nadine Schott, Bernadette Gambrill, Denise Williams; three brothers, Norman Smith, John “Jack”Smith, Kenneth Smith; and Sister in Law, Christine Janishefski. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Eline Funeral Home, Hampstead, MD, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians will perform a service at 7:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023, at 10 a.m. at the St. Bartholomew’s Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church and/or Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians.
