Obituary for Lillian Fern Tonkin (Neubeck)
Lillian Fern Tonkin (nee Neubeck), passed away on December 31, 2020. Fern was born on June 19, 1928 to Joseph Francis and Evelyn Fern Neubeck in Pikesville, MD, where she lived all of her life. She was a graduate of Strayer Business College and worked as an insurance agent for many years.
She was happily married to her soul mate, William Robert Tonkin (deceased), for 54 years. She was a devoted mother of Gail Stawski (deceased) (Michael), Linda Potwine (Roger), and Amy LeCompte (Dana): loving grandmother of Kristen Hammel (Michael); Nicole Janowitz (Justin), Jack Schaefer, Jr. (Lyndzie), and Kelsey Boyer (Steven Chad) and was blessed to be GG to 12 great grandchildren. She was a loving sister in law to three and aunt to three.
Due to the pandemic, a viewing will not be held. A small service will take place at Druid Ridge Cemetery.
As a survivor of several cancers, donations can be made in Fern Tonkin’s name to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
