Leo Frances Wolff Jr, 84 went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 16, 2023.
Leo was born in Baltimore, Maryland on April 4 1938, to Leo Francis Wolff and Josephine Fertitta Wolff. Leo was preceded in death by his wife, Fana M. (nee Jones) Wolff of 62 years. He is survived by his children, Leo Wolff, III (Mary), Susan Bollinger (Dan) and Richard Wolff (Tina); grandchildren Jamie Wolff, Megan Ertel (Nick), Jason Wolff, Amber Curtis (Brian), Melissa Borgmann (Sean), Jennifer Neil (Scott) and Courtney Bollinger. Leo is also survived by his great-grandchildren Charlotte, Everlyn, Levi, Kinslee and Samuel and his sisters, Eleanor and Marion. In addition to his wife, Leo is also preceded in death by his sister, Josephine, his twin brother, John and brother James.
Leo grew up in Baltimore County, Maryland, and graduated from Milford Mill High School in 1956. He attended the University of Maryland and Johns Hopkins. Leo met Fana Jones in August 1956 at 4-H Club week. They began dating and were married on September 27, 1958, one week before Leo left for his Naval training. Due to the Lebanon crisis, Leo was called up from the Navel Reserves on September 8, 1958. He was stationed on a Destroyer, U.S.S Purvis DD709 based out of Newport, Road Island, and served from 1958 to 1960.
Leo worked as an engineer, foreman a superintendent in the heavy construction field, building roads, bridges, and dams. He became a 4-H leader in 1960. He was very active in 4-H, the Baltimore County 4-H fair, and He coached Marksmanship for many years. He was a lifetime member of the 4-H All Stars, an active Member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. Leo enjoyed model trains, camping, fishing, and traveling with Fana.
A visitation will be held at Eline Funeral Home 11824 Reisterstown Rd. Reisterstown, MD 21136, on Thursday, January 19, from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8.
A Mass of Christian burial at Sacred Heart Church, 65 Sacred Heart Lane. Reisterstown, MD 21136, will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023 at 10 am.
Burial will follow at Lake View Memorial Park, 2724 Liberty Road, Sykesville, MD 21784.
