Obituary for Joan Marie White (Dyas)
Joan Marie White, 82, of Hampstead, passed away Monday, May 2, 2022 at the Dove House in Westminster, MD.
Born November 9, 1939 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Walter Dyas and Louise Henrietta (Ermer) Dyas. She was the wife of the late Arland Allen White, who died in 2015.
Mrs. White had worked in retail sales at Leggett in Westminster, retiring in the early 1990s. She was also a Pampered Chef consultant for many years. She was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church and the ladies auxiliary of Post 200 of the American Legion. She enjoyed playing bingo and visiting casinos.
Surviving are sons and daughter-in-law, Arland Allen White, Jr. and Tracy Ann White of New Oxford, PA, Eric Duane White of Hampstead, MD; daughter and son-in-law, Ellen Marie and Michael Thomas Burkhouse of Hampstead, MD; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Fred Kacher of Vienna, VA; and sister-in-law, Sharon Dyas of Hampstead, MD.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 249, Hampstead, MD 21074.
