Obituary for Janet Mary Ackerman (Saari)
Janet M. Ackerman, née Saari, passed away in her sleep at her home in Pikesville, MD in the early hours of October 7th 2021. She was born in Gardner, MA on November 10th 1935.
She is preceded in death by her husband of nearly 60 years, Norman A. Ackerman, and youngest son, Peter Jonathan Ackerman. She is survived by her sons Robert N. Ackerman of Columbia, MO and Jon E. Ackerman of Pikesville, MD, her daughter Susan Von Pohl and son in law Carl Von Pohl of Parkville, MD. She is survived by her 7 grandchildren; Jennifer Gebauer, Christopher Ackerman, Kirsten Wingerd, Travis Ackerman, Gunnar Von Pohl, Austin Emerson, and Jacob Ackerman, and 5 great grandchildren.
Family will receive friends on Monday, 10am to 11am at Eline Funeral Home, 11824 Reisterstown Road, Reisterstown, MD. Service will begin at 11am at the funeral home. Interment in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association or the Diabetes Foundation.
