Obituary for James Wesley Dill Sr.

James W. Dill Sr., 76, of White Hall, MD, passed away as the result of a stroke on Sunday, March 5, 2023.
James was able to spend time at The River, which is his favorite shooting match in Rising Sun, MD. He was with life long friends, Bobby and Jimmy Quinn, doing what he loved.

Jim was born on Sunday, January 5, 1947, in the home of his maternal grandparents, the late Mr & Mrs. L.W. Brown in White Hall, MD. A son born to the late Donald F. Dill Sr. and Clara ‘Margie’(Brown) Dill. He was the brother to “Sock” Donald Dill Jr.

Jim was a talented master heavy equipment operator and also a hunter which were two of his greatest passions. He was a whitetail deer bow hunter and an experienced fishermen. Both activities coming with many stories. He had a love for drag racing and also, continued to be a competitive shooter.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Jodi (Dill) Travers & husband Bill; three sons, James “Jim” W. Dill Jr.and wife, Pam, Shawn W. Dill and wife, Tara, and Hunter W. Dill; 15 grandchildren, Jerry Wyatt, Stacy Wyatt, Wendy Ramirez and husband, Mainor, Sammy Matthews, Paige Matthews and fiancée, Lance, Corabella Travers, Megan Dill, Mason Dill, Cassidy Dill, Wyatt Dill, Leigh Dockman, Laine Dockman, Cheyanne Dockman, Clara Dill and Sage Bennett; and five great-grandchildren, Mariela, Sabrina, Maverick, Oaklynn & Melanie.
In addition, he was survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends! Let’s not forget his loyal dog, “Bit” as well.

We will truly miss him, his kindness and his humor. Some may say he was a Legend of his own kind.

Visitation will be held, Saturday, March 18, 2023, 10:00am -12:00pm at the Eline Funeral Home, Hampstead, MD. Service will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023, 12:00 pm at the Eline Funeral Home, Hampstead, MD. Interment will be in Stablersville Cemetery, White Hall, MD, at a later date.
