Obituary for Herbert Patterson Eyler

On Friday, April 15, 2022 Herbert Patterson Eyler, loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend went to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ who welcomed him into his loving arms to rest in his eternal home.

Herb was born in Finksburg, MD to Sherman Patterson and Hollace Rebecca Eyler. He graduated from Westminster High School and went on to be a carpenter his entire life. His craftsmanship was impeccable, you could give him a hammer, boards and nails and he could build you anything you wanted. The ideas were endless and we will always cherish his builds. He was a member of the Beaver Run Gun Club, and a proud member of the NRA. He eventually hung up his hammer to spend time with his wife and grandkids. He loved to watch them in all their activities. Whether it was a hockey rink, ball field, or dance studio he was there. Along with his craftsmanship, Herb, Dad, PopPop aka “BD” was an avid hunter and fisherman! He loved sharing his hunting stories with anyone that would listen and he was proud of the wall hangers that were created. He taught us how to hunt and how to fish and most of all how to shoot straight.

He was preceded in death by his parents, beloved sister Claretta Yingling and beloved grandson Jake Eyler. His spirit is carried on and lived through his wife of 22 years, Joanne Warner-Eyler, whom he called Mrs. H and loved with all his heart. Son Herbie Eyler II and wife Heather, son Lynn Eyler and wife Bobbi, bonus sons Glen Warner and wife Kristie, Andy Warner and wife Holly, Mike Warner and wife Tiffany. Brother-in-law Clifford Yingling, Wayne Blevins and wife Sharon. Sister-in-law Sharon McGinnity. His love for his 13 grandchildren was never ending. Julia, Michael and Lynnzie Eyler, Shelby, Summer and Lacey Fields, Kaitlyn, Drew, Brooks, Molly, Emma, Mikey, and Jessica Warner; 3 great grandchildren Abel, Nora and Lonnie. Friends and family too numerous to list but not forgotten.

A celebration of Herb’s life will be held at a date yet to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions be sent to: non-profit Beyond Your Walls Inc., P.O. Box 1428, Salisbury, MD 21802

Mr. H, we will love you forever and a day, pinky swear xoxo
