Obituary for Eugene Curtis
Eugene Curtis, 87, of Bluffton, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023. Born June 14, 1935 in Waynesville, North Carolina to Rufus Curtis and Fannie May (Trull) Curtis. He was the husband of the late Margaret Ann (Wotthlie) Curtis. He was preceded in death by siblings Frances Rhinehart, Margaret Curtis, Robert Curtis, Bud Curtis, Annie Jane Webb, Mary McClure and Carolyn Curtis.
Gene enjoyed crabbing and surf-fishing; he was an avid golfer. Gene is survived by siblings Edna Crawford, Amelia Mullinax and Marie Edwards and children Thomas (Victoria) of Knotts Island, North Carolina, James of Taneytown, Maryland and Kenneth (Kathryn) of Phoenix, Maryland. Gene was affectionately referred to as ‘Pop Pop’ by Matthew, Ashley, Meaghan, Paul, Andrew and Paige, and his beloved shih tzu, Sammy.
