Obituary for Erin Kate McGettigan (Olson)
Erin Kate McGettigan (41) of Reisterstown, MD went to see the Lord July 12, 2020 surrounded by her husband, father, and family. Born February 20, 1979 in Brattleboro, VT, she was the daughter of Michael Olson and Carol Cherrington and devoted wife of Adam McGettigan.
She was a graduate of Brattleboro High and class of 1997. After graduation she attended Auburn University in Alabama. Erin worked for many years in the scientific and pharmaceutical field where she grew the corporate ladder. In the last year Erin decided to trade in the corporate world for a part time position in the family business East Coast Electric, Inc. that allowed her to do what she loved most and spend more time with her family. Family is what defined Erin. Her kids came first and everything else had to wait. She was full of life and lived everyday like it was her last. She has been an inspiration to many and the world will miss her big heart.
She is survived by her husband of 14 years, Adam McGettigan; sons Liam and Dylan McGettigan; daughter Malin McGettigan; father Michael Olson and Stepmother Marlene Olson; mother Carol Cherrington and step father Joel Cherrington; brother Lars Olson and his wife Jamie Olson; Sister-in-law Jeannetta Gerrish and her husband Matt Gerrish; stepsisters Emily and Rachael Cherrington.
All are welcome to join Erin’s family at Sacred Heart Church, 65 Sacred Heart Lane, Reisterstown, MD 21136 on Friday July 17, 2020 for Visitation (12PM - 2PM) and a Mass of Christian Burial at 2 PM at the church followed by burial at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chestnut Ridge Volunteer Fire Company, 12020 Greenspring Ave, Owings Mills, MD 21117
