Obituary for Edgar Monroe "Eddie" Stagner

Edgar (Eddie) Stagner of Hampstead, passed away on April 4, 2023 at Autumn Lake Healthcare Longview in Manchester. Eddie was born on August 4, 1932 to the late Chester and Lillie (Shaffer) Stagner. Eddie was the husband of Hazel Stagner for 73 years.

Eddie was a life member of the Hampstead Volunteer Fire Department, where he was also a past President and the oldest living member. He was also a member of the Hanover Moose Lodge. Prior to his retirement, he worked at Wheeler Chevrolet in Hampstead, and Jeff Legun in Westminster. In later years, he drove a school bus in the Hampstead and Manchester area for 15 years.

Eddie enjoyed duckpin bowling, playing cards with friends, and spending the winter at his home in Florida. He also enjoyed watching his great-grandchildren play baseball. Eddie was an Orioles fan, and enjoyed watching their games.

Eddie is survived by three children, Donna Bauerlein(Frank), Sharon Blankenship(George), Daniel Stagner(Patricia); four grandchildren, Frank Jr., Beth Bauerlein, Chris Blankenship, and Ashley Cole; 5 great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Jeremiah, Noah Bauerlein, Camden Blankenship, and Denten Cole; a sister, Jeanette Carbaugh; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother-in-law, Robert Carbaugh.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday April 11, 2023 from 3-5pm & 7-9pm at Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main St. Hampstead, MD 21074. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday April 12, 2023 at 10:00 am at Eline Funeral Home. Interment will be at Hampstead Cemetery.
