Obituary for Doris K. Jennings (Zimmerman)
Doris K. Jennings, 84, of Finksburg, MD passed away Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Atlee Hill Health & Rehabilitation Center in Westminster, MD.
Born March 26, 1939 in Williamstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy (née Murray) Zimmerman. She was the wife of Harry Francis Jennings, her husband of 62 years, who died in 2022.
Prior to retirement, Mrs. Jennings had worked as an executive secretary for Proctor & Gamble. She was a member of Sandymount United Methodist Church. Both she and her late husband were members of the Heart of Maryland Classic Chevy Club in Frederick, MD. She loved to draw and paint. Following retirement, she worked part-time at Clementine's craft store, where she sold some of her crafts.
Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Leslie D. and Michael Norris of Bel Air, MD, Cathy L. and Kevin Tomchik of Finksburg, MD, and Kellie J. and Thomas Lanphear of Hampstead, MD; granddaughters, Kristen Lanphear Hartwig and Kelsey Tomchik; grandson, Justin Tomchik; great-granddaughters, Riley Hartwig and Raegan Hartwig; great-grandson, Wyatt Hartwig; and sister, Jo-Ann Bensinger of Williamstown, PA.
The family will receive friends Thursday, April 6, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 6:00 p.m. at Eline Funeral Home, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead, MD. Interment will be Friday, April 7 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Peters United Church of Christ Cemetery in Orwin, PA.
