Life Story for Donald Elvin Snodderly

Donald Elvin Snodderly, 87, of Catonsville, passed away on June 14, 2019. He was born on September 10, 1931 in Hagerstown, MD to the late Sherman and Evelyn (nee Baechtel) Snodderly. He was married to Paula J. Snodderly.

Dr. Snodderly was a veteran of the US Army serving from 1952-1954 in Counter-intelligence at Fort Holabird. He attended Hagerstown Junior college and the University of Maryland where he obtained his doctorate in psychology. He was an educator and principal, and retired after 37 years with Baltimore County Public Schools, followed by 10 years in the Baltimore City School System mentoring new teachers. He was an adjunct Professor at Johns Hopkins and Loyola. He was a President of the Lochearn Community Club and served on the H.O.A. board of the Fountain Head Towers in Ocean City, MD. He spent many summers at Pioneer camp in Canada. He loved the outdoors, gardening and his hometown, Hagerstown, MD.

He is survived by his wife Paula J. Snodderly; son Michael R. Snodderly and wife Mary; son Max R. Snodderly and wife Rebecca; sister Deborah Hoffman; grandchildren Kyle, Michael, Jr., Morgan Lutz and husband Tucker, Joseph, Ross and Max. Predeceased by brothers Phillip and Robert Snodderly.

A Celebration of Life Reception will be held on Friday, June 28, 2019, 12 noon, at the Charlestown Retirement Community, The Refectory, 715 Maiden Choice Lane, Catonsville, MD 21228.
