Obituary for Charles Milton Peacock

Charles “Milton” Peacock, 98, of Finksburg, MD. passed away on May 7, 2022, at the Dove House in Westminster, MD. Milt was born April 28, 1924, in the Hampden area of Baltimore, MD. Raised in Reisterstown & lived in Pikesville for 15 years, until moving to Finksburg in 1968 to present. He was the son of the late Charles and Carletta Peacock, of Reisterstown, and the beloved husband of the late Joyce F. Peacock, married 59 years. They had only one son C. Glen Peacock.

Charles was a graduate of Franklin High School class of 1942. After graduation, Charles served his country in World War II in the United States Navy, flying sub patrol missions protecting the fleet during the D-Day Invasion. Milt was a life member of the Westminster, MD VFW Post 467 & Captain of Honor Guard for 15+ years. Additionally, Milt was a life member of American Legion, attending Posts 31 & 116. His boyhood passion of airplanes had developed into construction & flying free flight & scale model remote control airplanes. He’s a long- standing member of the Westminster Air Modelers Club, where he has won countless Club & State competition awards for detailed construction in 1/6th scale category of various vintage aircraft in “presentation” many times, over some 80 years in flying.

Milt began boating in 1952 and spent over 40+ years of pleasure boating & teaching navigation-education in the U.S. Power Squadron . Milt was past Commander of Patapsco River Power Squadron in 1966 and He loved attending yacht club events all over the Chesapeake Bay. An active member of the Baltimore and Bush River Yacht Clubs Milt and family were known all over the bay. Traveling with his wife Joy & son Glen on every summer weekend boating, crabbing & partying on the beautiful Chesapeake Bay where good times with friends go hand in hand creating cherished memories for a lifetime. Milt was also a proud 70-year Mason .
Surviving is his only son, Glen Peacock and wife Lucy of Ormond Beach, FL... Grandsons C. Andrew Peacock of Middle River, MD.; Ryan E. Peacock and wife Tiffany of Pasadena, MD; and his Great-Grandchildren; Jacob Bryant, Braidyn Bryant, & Kylie Rose Peacock. Additional Grandsons are Christopher Frazer & wife Leann of Albuquerque, NM, with great-granddaughter Cira Frazer and great-grandson, Mitchell Frazer; his last Grandson is Morgan Frazer and wife Sandy of Chester, MD.

The family invites friends and family for a Memorial “Celebration of Life” and light refreshments on Monday, May 23, 2022, 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Eline Funeral Home, 11824 Reisterstown Rd, Reisterstown, Maryland, 21136. To be immediately followed by a Memorial service starting at 3 pm with Navy Honors at Eline Funeral Home, Reisterstown.
