Obituary for Charles Calvin Eaton

Charles “Charlie” Calvin Eaton was born on August 9, 1931, in Hampden, MD., to Evelyn Pauline Bankard and Charles Stanley Eaton. He passed away peacefully on March 11, 2020.

Charlie was very proud to have called Baltimore his home for more than 88 years, and he served his community in many ways. Immediately out of high school, Charlie was an Air Force MP for seven years, and he later served for another five years as a Baltimore police officer. He spent the remainder of his career as a railroad engineer, retiring in 1990. He was incredibly proud to have worked for Amtrak, operating the fastest passenger train in the U.S.

Charlie married Victoria Quinto Eaton on August 24, 1969, and they raised two sons, Michael and Charles, in Randallstown, MD.

He enjoyed flying remote-control airplanes and had a passion for music. In fact, he played piano up until his final days, loving to make others smile with his performances.

Charlie is survived by his sons, Michael (Mercedes) of Merritt Island, FL. , and Charles (Erin) of Issaquah, WA, grandchildren Michael Jr., Michelle, Owen, and Lillian, as well as nephews Randy, David, Bill, and Glenn.
He was preceded in death by his love Joyce Palmeri of Parkville, two sisters, Jane Koppe of Florida and Catherine Donnick of Baltimore.

Service and interment are private.
