Obituary for Celita E. Hummel (Cruz)
Celita Evangelina Hummel, 88, of Reisterstown, MD passed away on July 14, 2020 at her daughter’s home in Reisterstown. She was born on May 25, 1932 in Cartagena, Colombia, South America to the late Emiliano and Celia Cruz. She was married to the late James Francis Xavier Hummel.
She was mostly a homemaker but in her younger days she enjoyed painting, floristry and traveling as well as spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children; Celia M. Peters and her late husband Donald of Reisterstown, Theresa M. Tunney of New Market, MD, James F.X. Hummel, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Woodbine, MD, Lisa H. O’Boyle and her husband Christopher of Hanover, PA, Amy A. Beals of Navarre, FL and Julie M. Morris and her husband Aaron of Owings Mills; 15 grandchildren, Kathleen, Lisa, Ashley, Nick, Lauren, Brett, Jimmy, Kelly, Krissy, Jonny, Lindsey, Amy, Derek, Kara and Alyssa; 14 great grandchildren, Sam, Grace, Elyse, Jaime, Ilyssa, Kaeden, Caroline, Nathan, Julianna, Jonny, Lucas, Connor, Natalie and Fallon.
Still surviving is her sister Zoila Peters of Santa Barbara, CA and sisters-in-law Ruth and Josefina Cruz of Miami, FL and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Eduardo, Fernando and Jamie Cruz and brother-in-law Robert Peters.
Family will receive friends at Eline Funeral Home, 11824 Reisterstown Road, Reisterstown, MD 21136 on Sunday, July 19, 2020 from 3-5 & 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church, 65 Sacred Heart Lane, Reisterstown, MD 21136 on Monday, July 20, 2020 at 10am. Interment in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
