Obituary for Catherine R. Russell (Leonard)
Catherine R. Russell passed away on September 20, 2021 at the age of 95. Affectionately known as “MomMom” to all who knew and loved her, she was the beloved matriarch of the Russell Family. Born and raised in Baltimore, she was known for her contagious spirit and her ability to find a song or saying for any and every occasion. Many will tell you MomMom also made the most delicious peanut butter and jelly crackers!
She is survived by her only son, Jim, and his three daughters and sons-in-law: Shannon and Kevin Clements, Bridget and Jason Myrick, and Meghann and Nicholas Ervin. She was also an adoring great grandmother to Ella Catherine, Braeden James, Abigail Elizabeth, Erin Michele, Connor John, William Clarke, and Lucille Mae. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James W. Russell, Sr. (“Pop”) and her daughter-in-law, Michele Russell.
A private graveside ceremony will be held Saturday, October 2nd, 2021, with an open house celebration at the Myrick home in Reisterstown beginning at 2pm. We hope you will join us in celebrating our special MomMom and a life so very well lived.
