Obituary for Burford Frederick "Fred" Linker
Burford Frederick “Fred” Linker of Hampstead, 86, passed away on October 7, 2021. He was born on September 19, 1935 in Baltimore, MD to the late Llewellyn Rowe and Cora Amelia (nee Gill) Linker. He was married to Betty Arylene Linker.
Fred was a letter carrier with the United States Post Office for many years. He was also a charter bus driver for over 30 years with Rill’s Bus Service, Rohrbaughs Charter Service and Woodlawn Motor Coach. He was a Life Member of the Reisterstown Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Hampstead Lions Club and member and past president of the Reisterstown Jaycees. He belonged to the Reisterstown United Methodist Church and St. John’s United Methodist Church. Fred was a Franklin High School graduate (1954) and also served in the US Navy. He was an avid stamp collector and loved crab feasts.
He is survived by his wife Arylene Linker, daughter Jennifer Maier (Michael); sister Mary Catherine Linker; daughter in law Kimbra Linker; grandchildren Phillip Adam Linker, Amanda Beth Linker, Dennis Wayne Linker, Jr. (Brianna), Taylor Maier, Stephen Maier, Alex Maier and Alex Coon; step daughters Tracey Lorraine Porter and Robin Porter-Glaser (Wilmer). Predeceased by son Dennis Wayne Linker, Sr.
Family will receive friends on Monday, October 11, 2021 from 3-5 & 7-9pm at Eline Funeral Home, 11824 Reisterstown Road, Reisterstown, MD. Service will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, 10am at the funeral home. Interment is private.
