Obituary for Barrett M. "Bert" Knight Sr.
On Friday, October 20, 2022. Beloved husband of Joan Knight; loving father of Barrett Knight, Jr., Julie (Mike) Kinn, and Becky Knight; pop-pop of Jessica (Austin), Jennifer (Cody), and Jillian (Scott); great-pop-pop of Maddie and Peyton. Barrett was predeceased by his stepdaughter Linda Sue. Barrett is also survived by his "other son" Dale Reed.
Barrett was quiet, private, and observant. But he was also a jokester who had a lot of life experience, and loved teaching his kids and grandkids everything he knew. He was arguably the best dad in the world, and was most certainly the greatest man who walked the Earth, according to his family, who ought to know.
He worked as a carpenter, doing subcontracting- especially fine trim work, for which he received several awards in his lifetime, including #1 Subcontracter within the industry. When he wasn't working or teaching his trade, he was undoubedtly riding, or advocating somehow, for Harley Davidson. Or watching TV and drinking beer, which he also found ample time for.
A man should always have 4 things in his pocket: A lighter, a pocket knife, clippers, and coins.
