Obituary for Barbara Viola Sullivan (Oler)

On July 19, 2022, Barbara Viola Sullivan (nee Oler) of Pikesville, beloved wife of the late Charles E. Sullivan and daughter of the late Charles and Florence Oler, peacefully passed from this life. She was born on July 29, 1933 in Baltimore. Barbara is survived by her children Louis Brown of Kingsville TX, Kenneth Ports (Pat) of Baltimore MD, Deborah Schultze (Rick) of Westminster MD, Wendy Dunn (Eric) of Perryville MD and Edward Sullivan (Marilou) of Wilmington NC. She has 13 loving grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Barbara had a tremendous love for her family. She was admired by all who knew her and truly never met a stranger. Her next love after Dad and her family was no doubt - cooking! Barbara had a passion for trying new recipes with incredible success. When she wasn’t trying a new recipe to feed the masses, she was
at work as a natural artisan. Barbara would master stitching clothing from intricate patterns, crochet blankets and sweaters for loved ones, and creating one-of-a kind ceramic art. She could captivate most by simply sharing any one of her life stories of a life well lived. Barbara’s other passions was spending special times with her campground family and enjoying the deer and hummingbirds who would join her morning to start the day; as well as, her love for the ocean and sitting on the beach.

The family will receive friends at Eline Funeral Home 11824 Reisterstown Road (at Franklin Blvd.) on Sunday July 31st from 1-5 PM. Rite of Christian Burial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday August 1, at Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 101 Church Lane, Pikesville. Interment will be in Lakeview Memorial Park, Sykesville, MD.

The funeral mass will be live streamed. If you are in this website, scroll to the top of this page. Under the photo, select "Photos & Videos", then scroll down and click on "Watch Webcast" .
