Obituary for Alfred Robert Marianelli Jr.
Alfred Robert Marianelli, Jr, age 83, passed peacefully on October 27, 2022.
Born on August 22, 1939, in Old Forge, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Alfred and Catherine Marianelli and the loving and devoted husband of Louise B. Marianelli (nee Evans) for 58 years.
Alfred enjoyed a long career working for the Social Security Administration as an Auditor. He loved spending time with his family. He was his children’s biggest cheerleader and thoroughly enjoyed being “Pop Pop” to his 11 grandchildren. He also enjoyed baking, cooking, doing puzzles, reading and watching sports.
Alfred was a lifelong volunteer in the community. He actively supported his Parish, coached youth sports, served with the Knights of Columbus and worked with Cub Scouts.
Surviving are 4 children: Barbara Hawk and her husband Kevin of Abingdon, Lisa Carroll and her husband Daniel of Germantown, Mark Marianelli and his wife Lisa of Ellicott City and Catherine “Cathy” Florimbio and her husband Paul of Walkersville. He is the beloved grandfather of Jay, Justin, Anthony, Dominic, Angela, Vincent, Ryan, Ashley, Mark, Jack and Gina. Alfred was also predeceased by his sister, Catherine Wright.
The family will receive friends at Eline Funeral Home, 11824 Reisterstown Road on Saturday, November 26th from 11:00- 12:00, and a Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00. After the Service, a reception will follow. Interment will be private. Those desiring may make contributions in Alfred’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
