Obituary for Harry Edward Swan
Harry E. Swan, 91, of Finksburg, Maryland was reunited in heaven with his one true love, Madeline on July 22, 2019. They were married on April 4, 1948.
Born Dec. 15, 1927 on Bloom Road, he lived his entire life on the same property. He was the son of the late Edward F. and Mary E. Swan.
Harry was a WWII Navy Veteran. Returning from the service he worked as a materials handler for Black and Decker, Hampstead Plant until its closing, and then worked as a building maintenance supervisor at Sears in Westminster.
He loved to work with wood and built the house he would raise his family in. Throughout his entire life he had his “projects”. He loved the outdoors and with the family spent vacations camping and exploring the US and Canada. Madeline would plan the route and he would get us there safely. Together he and Madeline attended antique auctions and funded their retirement adventures with the proceeds. He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Westminster.
The memories and strength of the family will continue through their children; daughter Linda Wainer and husband Keith of Salisbury, Neil Swan and wife Diane of Westcliffe, CO, and Curtis Swan and wife Jane of Westminster. His five grandchildren were the light of his life. Brigette Swan and husband Brandon, Allison Brown and her husband Richard, Jennifer Swan, Timothy Swan and Matthew Swan. Allison and Richard blessed him with two Great Grandchildren McKenna and Camden Brown. He is survived by a sister-in-law Dorothy Swan and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers Norman (as an infant) and Melvin Swan and Sister, Pauline Lang.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM & Wednesday, July 31, 2019 from 10 AM - 12:00 PM at the Eline Funeral Home - 2901 Bloom Rd, Finksburg, MD. A funeral service will be held at the Funeral home on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at 12:00 PM followed by interment at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster, MD 21157 or the Maryland School for the Blind, 3501 Taylor Ave., Baltimore, MD 21236.
