Sorry to hear of this great loss. Mrs. Nester {was} is a great inspiration to me, has been since I meet her and will continue to be. No matter how bleak a situation may be Mrs. Nester could always find something to be thankful for. She also was willing to give her time, to groups, individuals, her best friends and to people she did not know at all, by helping with a physical need, emotional need, just letting them know she was there for them, and even doing something for someone they were not aware of her doing.
During my Mom’s considerable health issues in the last years of her life, Mrs. Nester was there for her as a caring friend. My blessings to her, for the difference she made in my mother’s life and in mind.
In ending I must mention the warmhearted bashing we did to each other all the time and how it made us smile and laugh. But not to compare to the excited look on her face and the loving proud tone of her voice anytime she would tell stories or speak of her childhood, growing up and, of course, her family, she so adored.
Kudos for a life of caring and giving.

My heart aches for your family. "Nester" will always hold a very special place in my heart for the love and kindness she shared with me when she took care of me. Skating in her driveway or playing in her yard to the wonderful lunches she made for me. She was a wonderful person and heaven is a bit brighter now...

We are so lucky to have tasted the love that went into her apple dumplings, to experience the warmth and exuberance of being in her presence. May Isabelle Nester's devotion to her community and family be an example that inspires the many generations who follow. Her spirit will thrive in the good deeds of those who witnessed her selfless generosity and kindness. She took care of so many children, it will be impossible for the world the forget her teachings. We had to listen, especially since we couldn't even get a word in. And we love her for it.

Isabelle was such a hard worker and was an inspiration to being active as one ages. She taught me that age has nothing to do with giving of your time and talents. She always asked how Ian was doing and that was much appreciated. It was evident how proud she was of her grandchildren. What a special grandmom you all had.

Isabell was a very special person to me and always will be. I am neither a Nester nor a Burton but my son Gary had the good fortune and excellent judgment to marry Kim, one of Isabell's granddaughters, so both me and my wife Karen, became bonded with the Nester- Burton clan.
Although we shared different upbringings and backgrounds, Isabell and I connected in many, many ways. Her love of family, generosity of spirit, compassion for others less fortunate than she and upbeat spirit even to the very end were things I greatly admired about her. She was always a giving person, who adored her entire family and never let you forget the names of all her grandchildren, great grandkids etc.I would listen to her stories of her younger days, the hardships she endured etc. countless times and would never get bored . Though I am not a religious person, I greatly respected and admired her spirituality and committment to her church and the entire church community. There was nothing more important to our mutual friend than her family and for that reason alone she stands out head and shoulders above the rest.
Several weeks ago I visited with her and in between her stories and showing me pictures of all the great grandkids adorning the wall of her room, we had what I consider a very special moment together which I shared in part with the Braun - Burton clan. When I had to leave,I reminded her that it was several months since she made me apple dumplings( with extra cinnamom) and coconut cake. Her eyes twinkled and she said, "As soon as I up to it, I will do some baking again".
Always the optimist, always the worker, always a beautiful person of spirit, always wanting to make people happy, that was my dear friend Isabell!
May she rest in peace with God looking over her.

Like everyone else, I too have very fond memories of our outings and family gatherings with the Nester family! It was obvious that this apple did not fall far from the tree. Isabelle had the same zest for life, love for her community, church and family as her mother, Grandma Morelock. Visits to the Nester house were always special. What a legacy, one that I adore and respect. And like Grandma Morelock, Isabelle’s memory will live on for a very long time!
