Life Story for Josephine Ann DiNenna

Josephine Ann DiNenna
Josephine Ann DiNenna was born on January 10, 1916 in Baltimore Maryland. Her parents, Anna and Salvatore Centineo, immigrated from Cefalu, Sicily. Anna had eight children: three boys and five girls. Josephine was the baby of the family; she was blessed with a large and loving family.

Josephine was a domestic engineer, and she was great at her job. Josie was a fabulous cook and baker. Her secret ingredient was that she added lots of love when preparing a meal or desert. Josie won the Baltimore Sun Christmas Cookie Contest three consecutive years in a row. Her kitchen was never closed. Even if you popped in unexpected, you would never leave hungry.

Josie was a diva in many respects. She loved fashion and glamor. She kept up with the styles and always looked fashionable, snazzy and elegant in her appearance. Josie was a diva before the word was invented. She had a great figure and could carry just about any style.

At 101 years old she would still get manicures and pedicures routinely, and would still flip through the fashion magazines while under the hair dryer. People were amazed when they found out she was 101 they would say, “You’re a diva girl.”

Josie was known for her feistiness and her good sense of humor. She would always come up with a quotation that was fit for the occasion. If you lost something she would say, “Saint Anthony come around something lost and can’t be found.” Josephine would always pray to Saint Jude and Padre Pio.

Josie made a house become a loving home filled with many wonderful memories that her daughters, and grandson David will never forget. Josie was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. There are no words to describe how we will miss her.

A Mass of Christian Burial and interment was held on Thursday, March 1, 2018.
