Laura Irene Hale Krebs, 99, passed away Thursday November 2, 2017 at her daughter's home in Hampstead.

She was born in Upperco on August 26, 1918 to J. Mitchell and Elsie E. Spicer Hale, the oldest of 12 children. She was the wife of the late John Ralph Krebs who died Sept. 26, 1972. She and Ralph moved to Florida where she lived until 2003. Irene attended All Faiths United Church of Christ, where she taught the youth class and helped with the women's guild.

She is survived by children J. Richard (Lucy) Krebs of Reisterstown, Bessie Bowers of Rising Sun, Janet Bosley of Dallastown, PA and Joan (Dick) Merryman of Hampstead; three siblings, 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandcildren.

Irene was predeceased by parents, husband Ralph, son James, Sr.; two granddaughters, Leisha Ann & Debbie, and great-granddaughter, Tara; and eight siblings.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday November 7, 2017 from 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon at ELINE FUNERAL HOME, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon with Pastor Richard Reilly officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, 19401 Middletown Road, Parkton.
