Hilda Jane Hawver, 89, of Hampstead, passed away Tuesday October 17, 2017 at the Long View Health Care Center in Manchester.

Born August 26, 1928 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late John and Hilda Stansbury Warch. She was the wife of the late Richard Newton Hawver, Sr., who died in 2015.

Prior to retirement, she had worked as a medical records specialist for Children's Hospital in Baltimore. She was a member of First & St. Stephen's United Church of Christ. She enjoyed baking and cake decorating.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Richard N., Jr. and Margo Hawver of Manchester daughter and son-in-law, Ellen Jane and Robert Giddings of Parkville; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Friends may call on Thursday, October 19, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at ELINE FUNERAL HOME, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead. A funeral service will be held 11: a.m. Friday, October 20 at the funeral home with Chaplain Nancy Ginsberg officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park in Sykesville.
