Obituary for Beverly Ann German

Beverly Ann German, a retired bank teller, homemaker and longtime Reisterstown resident, died Saturday of lung failure from COPD at Wellspan York Hospital surrounded by friends and family. She was 77.

Bev had a generous, compassionate heart and touched more lives than she will ever know. Gayle Harting, her friend of over 50 years, said "She never met anyone who she could not strike up a conversation with." She loved people, hearing about their lives, sharing stories and her love of life.

The daughter of James and Edna Irwin, the former Beverly Irwin was the youngest of 3 children who still remain close and survived by Jay Irwin and Flornel Shipley.

She was born in Overlea, and graduated from Kenwood High School. After graduation she began a services career which led to her meeting her future husband, Edgar H. German Jr. She was married to Edgar for 50 years minus 2 weeks.

An avid traveler, she visited England, Iceland, France, Scotland, Ireland and the Caribbean. She also enjoyed gardening and pets.

A visitation for friends, and family is scheduled for June 23rd between the hours of 5:30pm-7:30pm and will be held at Eline Funeral Home, 11824 Reisterstown Road, Reisterstown, MD 21136

Bev was happiest when surrounded by her family. She is survived by two children, Andrea Burkhart of York, PA and Edgar H. German III of Frederick, MD as well as her beloved grandchildren, Brianna Burkhart, Grace Scott, Lance Pentzer and Owen German.
