Janet L. (Curtis) Martin - 1932 - 2015
Janet L. (Curtis) Martin, Hampstead, passed away peacefully at The Dove House in Westminster, Md., Wednesday, November 4 following a brief illness. Born in 1932 in Sparks, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Curtis and Lula (Cooper) Curtis. She was the devoted wife of 58 years of M. Amos Martin, Hampstead, who survives her. She was a 1951 graduate of Sparks High School. As a young women she worked for the McCormick Spice Company in Baltimore and later at Ridge Engineering, Hampstead. However her greatest joy was taking care of her family and working in the family Christmas tree business. She was an active member of Salem United Methodist Church where, throughout the years, she played the piano, served as church secretary, treasurer and on numerous committees.
She is survived, in addition to her husband, by two sons and daughter and their spouses; Larry C. Martin and Sedonia Martin of Manchester, Douglas E. Martin and Terry Martin; Deborah L. ( Martin) Mann and Kirk Z. Mann all of Hampstead. Grandchildren: Ida Martin, New York, Brittany Martin, Manchester and Curtis Martin and Zachary and Connor Mann of Hampstead. She was predeceased by her sister Jean (Curtis) Foster and grandson Andrew D. Martin. She is also survived by her niece and nephew and their spouses and children: Laura (Foster) Krebs and Jerry Krebs, Mike Foster and Melissa Foster and Katie Krebs and Mason and Madison Foster all of Manchester.

The family will receive friends and family Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 at Eline Funeral Home, 934 Main Street, Hampstead, Md. Funeral services, with the Rev. Dr. Jarrett T. Wicklein her pastor, will be Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Salem United Methodist Church, 18217 Falls Road, Hampstead, Md., with interment immediately following in Salem’s cemetery.
